Community Fitness Meet-Ups
We believe there is strength in numbers! Moving with others is motivating and is a great way to make exercise more enjoyable.
We are introducing a series of free community meet-ups with walking followed by a short strength & flexibility session. These will be outside and led by active aging experts. All levels welcome!
Our first meet-up will be in St. Catharines Ontario on Saturday mornings in April. We will be adding locations throughout the year.

Your Have Questions - We Have Answers (FAQ)
1. What if it rains? 🌧️
Bring your rain jacket! We plan to meet if there is a bit of rain. If exceptionally stormy, check this page or our Facebook page for updates on alternative arrangements.
2. I haven’t done strength training in a while - is that okay? 💪
Yes! You will have the option of only walking or participating in walking + strength & balance. Exercises can be modified for different levels.
3. What is the pace of the walk?👟
We’ll have different paces and you can move with a group where you feel comfortable. There will be a volunteer to help with walking groups.
We will be walking around an ~800m loop, so no matter your pace, you’ll be close to others (and won’t need to worry about getting lost). Do as many loops as you want.
4. I have a walker - is that okay?
Yes - everyone is welcome. The walk is on a paved road.
5. What is the structure of the morning? 📅
We’ll start at 9:30am with a couple of different options:
- Walk: Walk with others around a short loop at a pace that works for you. Do as many loops as you want.
- Walk + alternating strength & balance: Walk a loop or two and then participate in an instructor-led session of light strength and balance. And then have the option of doing more loops.
6. Who is leading the fitness session? ⭐
We partnered with Anne Cooke. Anne is the owner of Miracles in Motion Fitness in St. Catharines. She leads classes for older adults and is a designated Functional Aging Specialist through the Functional Aging Institute.
7. Is there a cost? 💰
No - this is a free event.
8. If I don’t know anyone - should I come? ❤️
Yes - this is a great opportunity to meet others in a welcoming setting. Chat with someone on your walk. Or if solo walking (with a community feel) is more your thing - join us and enjoy a solitude walk.
9. What should I wear? 👓
Wear what you feel most comfortable in for outdoor activity - jogging pants, loose fitting pants, tights, shorts etc.
You may want to layer in case you warm-up as we move (jacket with a long sleeve shirt).
10. What is H&H Unlimited? 🎉
