Strength Training for Everyday Activities

Muscle loss begins in our 30s, and over many decades, it can make everyday tasks—like carrying groceries or getting up from a chair—feel more challenging.

The good news? It's never too late to start. Strength training, even in your 60s and beyond, can help you maintain and build muscle so you can stay strong, independent, and ready for whatever life brings.

Equipment for Strength Workouts

You don’t need a fancy gym or bulky machines to get stronger. Just a few well-chosen pieces of equipment can give you a fun, effective workout right at home.

Hand weights are perfect for upper body strength, but if that’s not your style, no worries—resistance bands, tubing, stability balls, and even your own body weight offer great ways to move and build strength.

Strength Training Workouts

The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for adults 65+ recommend doing strength workouts twice a week—just 30 minutes per session.

Each workout can include around six strength exercises. You can easily adjust the difficulty by changing the number of repetitions, sets, or the amount of weight or resistance. It’s all about finding the level that works for you—and building from there.

Fitness for the Ages

We believe in a world where women 60+ feel inspired and supported to move more. Through thoughtfully designed fitness equipment, energizing workout videos, and a vibrant community—both online and in real life—we’re building a movement movement.

Our mantra? Fitness for the ages. Because you're never "too old" to make your next move.
